Haiti has faded from the headlines, but the need there is still so great. We are working with Food For The Poor today to build homes for folks who lost everything in the earthquake.
So many families have been sleeping in tents, or sleeping in the mud, for months now, but we have a chance today to move them into a safe, secure, beautiful FFP home, just in time for the rainy season and hurricane season.
You will hear stories today that will break your heart, but I pray that you will not flip to the next station or put on a CD.
I pray that God will break your heart for the children and families of Haiti, as I know His heart must be breaking for them now.
WE are the hands and feet of Christ, and we can make the gospel real for someone who is suffering right now...for that mother who spent days digging her son out of the rubble of their house after the earthquake, and then didn't have enough money to bury him.
What if that was YOUR child?
What if that was YOUR house in Yorba Linda that collapsed, and all of SoCal was devastated, and no help was coming?
We can't bring her son back, but we can come along side her and tell her: We love you, and we see your pain. We can make sure she has a safe place to sleep at night, and we can make sure she knows her prayers have been heard, and that God has sent someone to help her.
